Linda K. Robertson Linda Robertson, 77, of Delta, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. She was born June 13, 1941, in Oskaloosa the youngest of eight children born to Marvin and Susie Leathers Knowler. She attended school at Rose Hill and went on to graduate from Fremont High School with the class of 1959. Following graduation, she worked as the secretary at Ideal Ready Mix in Oskaloosa. In November of 1963, she was united in marriage to Kent Robertson at Rock Island, Illinois. The two of them operated Dean and Julias convenience store in Oskaloosa. They eventually purchased that business and owned and operated in until 1972. At that time, they bought a bar in Sigourney and named it Kent and Lindas. They operated the bar together until Kent died in 1976. Shortly thereafter Linda sold the bar and worked various part time jobs. Last, she worked as the secretary for the Keokuk County Attorneys office, she retired from that position in 2005 after nearly 26 years of service. In 1978, she met Lawrence Husband. The two of them have enjoyed many trips, camping adventures and each others company for the past 40 years. She enjoyed camping with Lawrence and their families, and spending time in her flower and vegetable garden. She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye Football fan. Linda delighted in spending time with her family and friends.
Her family includes her long-time companion, Lawrence Husband of Oskaloosa; two sons, Larry Robertson (& Jody Prell) of Sigourney and Kevin Robertson of Delta; four grandchildren, Rudy, Royce, Kaleigh, and Maren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Ione Carl and Edith (Ed) Bridges all of Oskaloosa; two sisters in law, Sandy Ford of Bettendorf and Linda (Rex) Wellman of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Linda was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Floyd Knowler, Harold Knowler, Marvin Knowler, and Jack Knowler; and a sister, Mary Awtry.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Molly Goodrich officiating. Burial will be in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Sunday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 2-4 Sunday afternoon to greet friends and relatives.
