Margie  Holliman


Margie Mae Holliman, 96, of Fremont, died at 5:33 p.m. July 27, 2019 at Oskaloosa Care Center.
She was born July 10, 1923 at home near the Ottumwa airport to Roy Jackson and Ethel Mae Spurgeon Harter. She married William G. "Bill" Holliman on April 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death April 16, 1994.
A graduate of Fremont High School in 1941, she was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Margie was a 4-H leader for over forty years, was a charter member of the Fremont Community Players and was a Township Election Official. She loved and supported the Fremont community.
Surviving are her three children, Sharoll (Hal) Edmundson of Oskaloosa, Stephanie (Paul) Holliman Ginkens of Mt. Pleasant and Allen (Pam) Holliman of Cedar; 9 grandchildren, Lane Holliman, Kelly (Mary) Holliman, Tonia Edmundson, Janelle (Dave) Canfield, Grant (Emily) Edmundson, Jeremiah (Tia) Seal, Nichole (Dan) Ellington, Nikki (Casey Corman) Shull-Saunders and Stevie (Alexis) Shull-Saunders; 19 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Gladys Harter and Lynn and Ruby Harter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Kelly Sterling and Mary Faye and Merle Clingman.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fremont United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Voels officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be open at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fremont United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cedar Livestock 4-H Club or Cedar Township Cemetery Avenue of Flags.
