Willis Lowell "JR" Kirk Jr., 54, of Burlington, died at 4:15 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Great River Medical Center.

Born November 1, 1964, in Oskaloosa, IA, he was the son of Willis L. and Patricia Sirovy Kirk. On August 5, 1994, he married Ann Marie Mesler in Oskaloosa, IA.

JR had held a variety of jobs including meat cutting, bouncer, manufacturing, and glass cutting.

He was a 1983 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and graduated from Southeastern Community College in 2004 with an A.S. in Web Design.

He enjoyed his family, pets, sports, and good humor.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; one daughter, Janette Yenchko of West Burlington; three grandchildren, Evelyn Marie, Claire Marie, and Logan James Yenchko; three sisters, Lorraine Kirk of Burlington, Patricia Kirk (Lennie Thompson) of Ankeny, IA, and Georgina (Terry) Gott of Oskaloosa, IA; very special family friend, Tina Musgrove; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Willie will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with John Yenchko officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter in Oskaloosa, Iowa or the charity of your choice.
