Stillwater, OK - Betty Lou Cook, 93, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Stillwater. Her service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Stillwater, with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Betty was born on November 28, 1931, in Marion, Iowa, to Pearl and Rebecca Wales. She married the love of her life, Albert Cook, on February 8, 1958. They shared 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 2006.
A longtime resident of Stillwater, Betty worked as an administrative assistant in the Agronomy Department at Oklahoma State University. She was a faithful member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, where her warmth and kindness touched many lives.
Betty had a generous spirit. She enjoyed square dancing, crafting, and volunteering at Stillwater Medical Center, where she shared her time and talents with joy and dedication.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert; her parents, Pearl and Rebecca Wales; and other dear family members.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, David and Tracy Cook, and Steve and Janet Cook; grandchildren, Sean Soderlund, Rebecca Cook, and Haley Cook; and sister, Helen Dejoode.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Donna Bieri for her devoted care and friendship to Betty in her later years.
Betty will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.
